14, 2000 I
was excited Wednesday the 12th of
July, because you could put 10 states in your
map puzzle by yourself.
However, tonight you put all the pieces
of the puzzle in the right place by yourself.
We were excited and shocked. |
 | July
11, 2000 Your
first attempt at saying your last name. |
 | July
6, 2000 You
discovered a new game in the bath tub.
You call “Mama” and when I came in to
see what you needed you would splash me and
laugh. You
also wanted to help feed the cats and you
proceeded to follow Skittles around the house
with a bowl of food.
I couldn’t find it so we all went to
bed and about 4:00 a.m. I hear “crunch,
crunch,” under the bed.
Oh, there is the cat bowl. |
 | July
1, 2000 We
went to the Star Spangled 4th
celebration in downtown Garland.
You rode your first pony and
several
rides. |
 | June
27, 2000 You helped me wash out the back
of the pickup.
In the process we were both soaked.
Then you decided that it was a neat game
to spray your father and me when we would try to
approach you.
It was pretty funny and you had a blast. |
 | June
9, 2000 You
spoke on the phone for the first time.
You carried on a pretty good conversation
with your Grandma Ruth. |
 | June
4, 2000 Your
cousin Kami, her family, Aunt Janice, Grandma
Ruth and Papa came to visit.
We all went to the zoo and had a picnic.
You two had a great time together. |
 | June
2, 2000
Yikes!
You called 911 while I was in the bathtub
and apparently more than once.
I found out when the officer came to our
door to tell me. I was totally shocked and quite embarrassed. |
 | May
31, 2000 We went to Big Lots with your
Aunt Debbie and we found a lawn chair just your
size.
You like it so much you carried it around
the store and would sit down in front of things
that you wanted to look at. |
 | May
16, 2000 You
touched a frog for the first time and followed
it around until you almost stepped on it.
I decided that it was time to let the
frog go home. |
 | May
15, 2000 You
used the potty for number 2 and I thought I was
thrilled over peepee.
At first I was a little stunned to be
handed a diaper with poopoo in it.
You then headed off to your bathroom and
finished on the potty.
There is never a dull moment with you. |
 | May
14, 2000 You
used the potty at your request!
I was sooooooo excited.
You thought it was fun.
The issue is how to keep you playing with
the stream.
It is just water to you. |
 | April
24, 2000 We
were headed home from Easter weekend in Lubbock
and I had been showing you the sign language
alphabet and you started stating the letters
before I did.
Your father and I were both stunned and
excited. |
 | April
23, 2000 Your
first Easter.
We went to your Aunt Janice’s house.
You went Easter egg hunting with Kami and
Dylan. I
think the parent had as much fun as you three
young ones. |
 | April
22, 2000 OK.
Mom is a liar. This is the first time you made a liar out of me.
We were in Lubbock eating at Casa Ole’
(my favorite restaurant) with Connie, Steve,
Grandpa and Grandma Ruth.
You were helping Grandma Ruth eat her
taco. I
told her you didn’t like meat and just wanted
her tomatoes.
Not only did you eat the meat, you ate
her whole taco. |
 | April
4, 2000
On our nightly ritual of putting you to
bed, which is kissing Daddy goodnight and I take
you to bed.
However, this night you stayed in the
room and closed the gate and locked the door.
I was on the outside and you were inside
with your Dad. |

It has been raining and we decided to

You loved it. |

had your first skating lessons with your second
cousin, Gay Lynn. |
 | March
26, 2000 We
have a gate that keeps you out of our bedroom,
because your Dad works from the house.
You have been watching Toby jump from a
chair and over the gate.
Tonight you did the same thing and let
yourself in the room. |
 | March
23, 2000 We
got you your first car.
It is a Little Tike
Coupe.
When we opened the box to start putting
it together, you grabbed the steering wheel and
put it in the correct hole.
We were somewhat shocked.
You knew what you wanted to do and that
was drive. |
 | March
21, 2000 Your
Uncle Ken came over and helped with the fence
for your play area.
We finished it on the 23rd. |

You told Grandma Ruth “Hi”. |
 | February
28, 2000 You
and I spent the week with Grandpa and Grandma
Ruth’s house.
We also went to Dylan’s second birthday
party. You
two played together like you play together all
the time. You
also tried using their toothpaste as hair mouse. |
 | February
21, 2000 We
have been playing flash cards for sometime, but
all of the sudden you have decided that you
really like them.
You ask to play with them several times a
day and get a little upset if we do not
understand your request.
“M” and “O” was the first
letters that you recognized without prompting.
You pronounced “M” as “mmmm”.
I have also notice that you pair the 0
and 10 flashcards and the 2 and 12. |
 | January
28, 2000 We
have been burning the fireplace and I was about
to shut the gas off, but I could not get the

eating and decided to put it in there. |

It was very light, but you enjoyed eating
it. |

Pizza Place with Haley, Ryan and Marlena. You
have been there a couple of times before, but
there were a lot of kids there that day. You
were scared at first then you decided that it
was ok. Also, two young girls decided to take
care of you and they followed you everywhere you
went. |
 | January
4, 2000 We have a bent wood rocker, which
you have now converted into a jungle gym. You
turn it upside down and climb on it. |

and you learned the meaning of
"Presents" and you liked to open yours
as well as anyone else that would let you. |
 | December
21, 1999 We were at Grandma Ruth and
Grandpa’s house for Christmas. They have a

chairs from room to room and turn on and off the
lights. |

and you had a blast playing with your cousins
Adam and Samantha. |

so I can put them away. |
 | November
16, 1999 "The
day we glued your head back on."
(Quote provided by Sharon) Your father was
going out of town and as he walked out the door
he said, "Take good care of
Wesley". Not even ten minutes later,
you fell and cut your forehead. I took you
to the doctor thinking they would give you
stitches. Well, they glued it together
instead with a new product called "Dermabond". |
 | October
17, 1999 We
purchased you a "Clipity Clop"

standing on the saddle like stunt rider. |

lot more. |
 | September
21, 1999
I decided to take you to a Mother's Day out
program one day a week. After three weeks,
I could not stand it anymore. I think I
cried more than you did. |
 |
September
18, 1999 Your father decided that it was time
you had a sandbox. We spent a good four hours
searching with not luck. However, that didn't stop
your dad. He bought you some sand and used a large storage container
and you now have a sandbox. You
seemed to really enjoy it. He also ordered you a
really nice one from "ETOYS.com". |

September
14, 1999 During a stroll at the Richardson

took you to the Air Show at Love Field. |

August
17, 1999 I finally found a pair of shoes that
fit. "The Shoe Story":
Their once was a
little boy with not your average feet. They were
somewhat larger than most his age. His Mom had been on
an adventure for quite some time to find the perfect
pair of shoes. Walla! One day out shopping with her
friend, Becky, the Mom found a pair of special shoes.
The little boy was so excited that he had on his new
white tennis shoes that he didn't even notice that his
diaper fell off. He proceeded to run out of the store
into the mall while his Mom was paying for his new
shoes. Her friend managed to intercept the little boy
and wrestle him down to put on his diaper. The little
girls in the store were somewhat amazed to say the
least. But oh well, when you’re only one year old,
who cares. Once the little boy got home, his Father
explained to him that what he did was called
streaking. The End. |
