July 11, 2002 Your
Grandma Ruth and Papa are going to come and stay
with you while we go out of town for a few days in
August. While you were on the phone talking to
Grandma Ruth today you told her that they were
going to come and sit on you while we go to the
airport. |
 |
July 10, 2002
You started some new activities at
the recreation center today: Planes,
Trains and
Automobiles and Mini Musicians.
|
 |
July 6, 2002 We
went to the Start Spangled Celebration today. You
rode rides and a pony. I believe this is the
third year and you love it even though it was
about 100 degrees outside. |
 |
July 4, 2002 We
went to Uncle Ken’s and Aunt Rosealie’s house to
celebrate the 4th. We had a great
time. You go to
play in the pool and
play with
their dogs. |
 |
June 18,
2002 We enrolled you
in a Karate class today. After the class we asked
you what you did, you responded “Just sat around
and talked about your friends”. I believe you did
a little more than that, but we will never know.
Also, you got a
new kitten today, much to your
father’s dismay. You and I took, Toby, Skittle
and Brook to the vet and came home with a new
baby. You named her "We 1".
|
 |
June 12,
2002 You are quite
the ham. Today you were with your Dad and you two
were being silly. When you two got home, Dad
said, “Let’s go goofy” you responded, “Let’s go
Mickey Mouse”.
|
 |
June 11, 2002 You
and I went to Michael’s Arts & Crafts today to get
something for Father’s day. You picked out a
wooden heart and wooden bunny. You did a great
job on both and you father was trilled to take
them to work. |
 |
June 10,
2002 We went for you
post operative visit today and Dr. Wyatt said you
looked great. You looked at me and gave me a big
thumbs up.
|
 |
June 9,
2002 We all went out
to your "really" Great Uncle Wayne and Aunt Dana’s
new house today. Uncle Wayne took you fishing in
this new boat house. You caught three fish.
|
 |
June 7,
2002 You started a
class today called Simply Sports. It is an
introduction to T-Ball, basketball and soccer.
|
 |
June 6,
2002 You started you
Critter Cooking class today. You made a
caterpillar out of a banana, yogurt and pretzels.
|
 |
June 4,
2002 Sharon, Garret
and Logan came up to visit. We all went to the
park and you had your first Ice Cream Truck
experience. Actually, Garret and Logan had their
Ice Cream Truck experience in Texas.
|
 |
June 1,
2002 You and your
Dad went to Home Depot for the monthly craft
activity. You made a wooden bubble gum dispenser.
|
 |
May 31,
2002 You have become
a Popsicle eating expert since you got your
tensile out. Today you showed your Dad the proper
way to one.
|
 |
May 28,
2002 You got your
tonsils out today, but I am pretty sure he didn’t
use a weed eater. You did pretty good, a little
mad about the medicine, but we managed to get
enough in you to sedate you. When we got home the
first thing you asked to eat was a hot dog. It
must have been the medication. I talked you into
grits instead.
|
 |
May 27,
2002 You are getting
you tonsils out tomorrow and you told Grandma Ruth
on the phone that they were going to take them out
with the weed eater. You came into our room and
said, “I’m a tiger.” At first we said, “that’s
nice dear”. Then we thought we better
investigate. You colored orange stripes on your
legs with the markers and you did look like a
tiger. I guess a tiger is going to have his
tonsils out the next day.
|
 |
May 23,
2002 Today was the
last day of school for you. They had a party.
There were hot dogs, watermelon and lots of fun.
After that, you and I headed off to Lubbock for
the weekend. You cousin, Steven graduated from
high school. You got to spend the whole weekend
with Kami. You two told secrets at the dinner
table, play in the sand together and shared toys.
|
 |
May 21,
2002 We went to
lunch and the park with Benjamin. You two have so
much fun together.
|
 |
May 18,
2002 The school had
a garage sale to raise money for the school. I
took you to Benjamin’s house and you stayed there
for six hours. I believe you would have stayed
longer if you would have had your way.
|
 |
May 15,
2002 Today you
informed us that you were going to use the foam
rubber garden kneepad on your bottom the next time
you got a spanking.
|
 |
May 4,
2002 We went to Home
Depot today and discover that they have children’s
craft activity on the first Saturday of each
month. Today you made a jewelry box for me.
|
 |
April 26,
2002 I think today
was your favorite day. We went to Lagoon Harbor,
a water park. You loved the water slide.
|
 |
April 25,
2002 We went to
Animal Kingdom today. We rode a large water
ride. It was great.
|
 |
April 24,
2002 We went to
Magic Kingdom today. You had you picture taken
with Mickey Mouse, Pooh and Tigger. After Magic
Kingdom we went to “Old Town”. It has shops,
restaurants and rides. You had almost as much fun
there as you did at Magic Kingdom. You go to jump
on a trampoline with bungee straps. You had a
blast!
|
 |
April 23,
2002 We went to MGM
Studios today. You really enjoyed the back stage
tour. When we got back to the hotel you went to
the pool with your Dad and introduced him to you
new friend “Plumo”. He lived in the crack of the
pool and gives you the tickets to go the fair.
What an imagination.
|
 |
April 22,
2002 We went to pick
up Dad from the airport. We had donuts and headed
of to Disney World. Along the way, we stopped
in Tampa to visit a children’s town. Everything
there was just your size, from the McDonalds to
the Fire Station.
|
 |
April 19,
2002 We are off to
Florida! You and I went out ahead of Dad and
stayed with my friend Sharon and her family.
While we were there you discover how much fun the
pool could be with a swimming vest. We also went
to the beach. However you were not very thrilled
with the waves and did not care to stay. Also,
you, Garret and Logan found a large turtle
crawling across their back yard.
|
 |
April 10,
2002 You have
developed quite the imagination lately. You have
conversations with some of your friends that are
not here. Tonight you were playing with Max, Ord
(from Dragon Tales) and Melanie (your friend from
school). It was bedtime and told everyone that
they had to go to bed.
|
 |
April 9,
2002
You have
become so independent lately that sometime I
forget that you are only three. Like tonight, I
asked you to brush your teethe and go peepee, your
bed time routine. I thought it was safe to leave
for a few minutes. Wrong, when I came back you
had decided to wash your hear. Which would have
been ok if you had used shampoo and not hand
lotion.
|
 |
March 31, 2002
We had an Easter lunch today at the
house. We also hid eggs in the living room for
you to hunt because it was too muddy to hunt
outside. You had a great time.
|
 |
March 27, 2002
There is never a dull moment with
you around. As I turned by back on you for
just a moment, you decided to see where the creek
went. I turned around as you in the creek trying to get
Brook to join you, however, she new better. You
let her go and proceeded to go off looking over
your shoulder at me as I called you to come back.
I rolled up my pant, in vain, because I promptly
fell in the water. You had quite the head start
and I couldn’t even see you. I wanted to be mad,
but it was kinda fun. However, I did not let you
know that I felt that way. I heard you crying and
you met me at the next turn soaked head to toe.
You had fallen too. I think it hurt your feelings
more than your body. You also spent quite a bit
of time in the time-out chair after that little
adventure for not coming back to me as I when I
asked. You are only three, boy are we in for
an exciting life.
|
 |
March 18, 2002
Today I came into the
living room and you had the recliner turned on it
back. When I asked you what you were doing, you
replied “I am working on its engine”.
|
 |
March 15, 2002
We went to the zoo today. It was
so cold that you and Kami were happy to leave.
Now that is cold when two three year olds want to
leave the zoo.
|
 |
March 13, 2002
We had visitors for Spring Break:
your Aunt Janice, Kami, Grandma Ruth and Aunt
Connie. Aunt Debbie came to visit on the 15th.
|
 |
March 12, 2002
Aunt Janice called about their
upcoming trip
out to see us and you got on the phone and
wouldn’t stop talking. You talked about 30
minutes. You were so excited about their visit.
|
 |
March 10, 2002
You learned how to whistle
accidentally while blowing on your soup to cool it
off.
|
 |
March 9, 2002
You pooted and you said "That was
not funny". You also said “PP – now that funny”....
your words... really...
|
 |
March 1, 2002
You have started something new
lately. “I’m mad at you look”. You will walk
in the room with your hands on your hips with this
really grumpy look and say, I’m mad at you. I am
sorry to say that it a little hard to take you
seriously.
|
 |
February 26, 2002
It snowed and you had snow ice
cream over at Grandma Jude’s house.
We also build
a snowman when we got home.
|
 |
February 16,2002
You were talking or I should say
you were singing to your Grandma Ruth today. You
have decided that you like Cher and you were
singing, “Believe”.
|
 |
February 15, 2002
We went to eat lunch with Wayne and
Dana today. When we got there you told them that
you lived in Wayne Texas. You also ate the cherry
off the display dessert. We were quite shocked.
|
 |
February 14, 2002
You wrote you own name today! I
was so excited. You signed your Dad’s valentines
card. You have also started counting by 2s.
|
 |
February 13, 2002
You
planted potatoes with your
Grandma Jude today. They poked their little green
heads out of the ground on March 21, 2002. You
were so proud.
|
 |
February 10, 2002
You are so fun to watch. You like
to play cook and today you had some M&Ms and put
them in you pan and turned on the timer. While
you were waiting for your M&Ms to cook you sat in
your chair singing.
|
 |
January 20, 2002
The three of us went to the “Dallas
World Aquarium” today. It was really nice. I
think the Jelly Fish caught your attention more
than anything. The look liked they were glowing.
|
 |
January 19, 2002
You went bowling for the first time
today. It was a birthday party for two of your
classmates. You really liked it and of course you
had at great time playing the arcade games.
|
 |
January 12, 2002
We went to see your Aunt Denise and
cousin Kevin today. They have horses and we went
out to pet them. They were nibbling on their
dropping and you thought they were eating
cookies. We decided to leave you with that
thought as long as you didn’t join in the snack
time.
|
 |
January 8, 2002
Your communication skills are
really getting there. Today after school you said
to me, “I have a good idea, Let’s go see Wayne”.
I thought that was pretty cute and grown up.
|
 |
January 5, 2002
We went over to see your cousin
Virginia today. You had a great time with
her dog June. Much to my surprise you
decided to get accounted using the dog method.
I stopped you about an inch from her
you-know-what.
|
 |
January 3, 2002
Well, you had your first negative
encounter with the rats today. You were playing
like you were the dog and stuck your nose in the
cage and Jill bit it. I think it hurt your
feeling more than it actually hurt your nose.
|
 |
January 1, 2002
We had Christmas with your Dad’s
family at our house today. It was great!
|
 |
December 25, 2001
This was your fourth Christmas. It
was a lot of fun. You figured out that there is a
Santa Claus and you really liked all the gifts he
brought you. You really liked the
John Deer truck
that he delivered to the house even though we were
in Lubbock. He was able to find us there, since
we brought your “Santa Stop Here” sign and put it
in the window in the hotel room.
|
 |
December 22, 2001
We went and had Christmas with your
Aunt Rhonda’s family tonight. You had a great
time playing with Caitlyn. You even wanted her to
come home and spend the night. That is the first
time you have asked for someone to come and stay
with you.
|
 |
December 19, 2001
You are growing up way too fast.
Your Dad asked you to shut the bedroom door and
you responded, “I can’t, I’m sick.” Where did
that come from?
|
 |
December 15, 2001
We had Christmas with Uncle Jim and
Aunt Becky today. They gave you a neat road, cars
and a case to carry it all in. We also went to
see the “Prairie of Lights”. It is located in
Grand Prairie and there were over a million
lights. You loved it. I think the real reason
you like it so much was because you got to sit in
your Dad’s lap and drive.
|
 |
December 7,
2001 We were driving
home from Fritzl’s, one of our favorite
eating-places and we decided to drive around and
look at lights. You were not in the best of moods
and you were arguing with your Dad. He told you
to stop arguing with him and your response was
“Daddy, don’t argue with me.” |
 |
November 27, 2001
Well, we have been working on the potty training
thing and sometimes you get busy and forget.
Tonight was a good one. You peed on you Dad. Of
course, I found it a lot more amusing than he
did. I thought that it was about time; he has not
been pooped, peed or puked on. Seems only fair to
me.
|
 |
November 22, 2001
“Happy Turkey Day” We went out to your Uncle Ken
and Aunt Roselie’s house. We had a great day.
Your Uncle Ken gave you a ride in his wheel barrel
and you loved it. |
 |
November 20, 2001
Today was Grandparent day at your school. Your
Papa, Grandma Ruth and Grandma Jude all got to go
and see what you do at school.
|
 |
November 10, 2001
You went to your Grandma Jude’s house today. Your
cousin Samantha was there and you painted with her
and helped her with her homework |
 |
November 5, 2001
We went to Lubbock for the week. We went with
your Aunt Debbie and we even took Brook. It was a
great week. |
 |
October 31, 2001
Today was Halloween; you were dressed as a
wizard. We took you to the mall, then to a “Fall
Fest” and you and your Dad went trick-or-treating
in the neighborhood. You had a great evening.
The fall fest had a lot of games; the Garland fire
department was there as well as a police officer.
You sat in his car and ran the siren. When you
went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood, I
thought you and your Dad got lost. You were just
having so much fun you made all the rounds. |
 |
October 27, 2001
We had a small early Halloween Party at our house
tonight. You and your Dad both dressed like
wizards. You two were cute. You were the only
little one and when your Aunt Dana arrived you
captured her and held her captive in you room
almost all evening. I don’t think she minded,
however periodically she would come out for a
snack. |
 |
October 17, 2001
Sometimes at bedtime after you go to sleep, I talk
to you. Usually, I tell you that you are a good
boy and that I love you. This particular night I
decided to talk to you about your recent not so
wonderful behavior and right in the middle of my
subliminal conversation you said, “Shhhhh, I’m
sleeping”. |
 |
October 2, 2001 We
went to the “State Fair of Texas” today. You had
a great time. You rode rides, played games and
won your own prizes. The game that you did the
best with was the one where you would toss
ping-pong balls into bowls that were floating on
water. You were a real trooper, we got there
around 10:30 am and we left about 7:00 pm. |
 |
September 26, 2001 Your
school had open house. The three of went and we
got to see all the great work you have been
doing. |
 |
September 17, 2001
After school on this particular you wanted to go
see your Dad at his office. I told you that it
was not a good day to go by and you responded,
“Oh, come one Mom”. I had to turn around and look
to see if you were still three. |
 |
September 14, 2001
The Garland Fire department was having a fill the
boot drive to help collect money for the clean up
efforts in New York, your Grandma Jude gave you
some changes for you to take and help fill the
boot. After you gave them the money they let you
sit in the fire truck. You thought that was
pretty neat. |
 |
September 9, 2001
The three of us went to Celebration Station today
and had a great time. We drove the cars, rode
bumper boats, played putt putt. You were great at
putt putt. You got a hole in one on the very
first hole, with Dad’s help. You also rode the
train four times; the airplane twice and the
dinosaur ride once. We had a great day. |
 |
August 24, 2001
Today was the first day for all kids at school.
The first few days were for the new kids to get
used to the school routine. There was crying
going on everywhere. You just walked on in and
looked at the other kids like, what is going on
with you. |
 |
August 23, 2001 We
went to eat at Chili’s restaurant. We included
Dad, Grandma Ruth, you and me. You started
burping at the table and your Dad was trying to
get you stopped. The next time you burped your
looked at your Dad and said “Daaadeee” trying to
make it look like Daddy burped and not you. Of
course, we all laughed and the game continued. |
 |
August 20, 2001
You started back to school today. You were very
ready to go no crying, not even a sad look. |
 |
August 19, 2001 We
took Grandma Ruth to the airport today, so she
could go home. When it came time for her to board
the plane you got in line with her and said “Bye
Mom”. You were ready to go see Papa and Mitzie
(their cat). |
 |
August 14, 2001
You were doing something naughty and your father
asked you if you wanted a spanking. You replied,
“No, spank the dog.” We all and forgot what you
were even doing to get into trouble in the first
place. |
 |
August 13, 2001
Your Grandma Ruth came in town to stay with us for
a few days. You two had several days to
play. One day she took you out to play in
the water and you soaked her head to toe. |
 |
August 6, 2001 We
went to your Aunt Debbie and Uncle Tim’s house to
visit and your Uncle Tim let you drive his
tractor. You sat in his lap and took the steering
wheel like you knew what you were doing. |
 |
August 4, 2001 We
had a little birthday party for you and Kami
today. You got some neat toys, but you seemed to
favor the Winnie the Poo watch that your Papa and
Grandma Ruth gave. You even slept with it. |
 |
August 2, 2001 We
had visitors! Pap, Grandma Ruth, Aunt Janice and
Kami came. Then on Friday, Uncle Mickey and Aunt
Connie came as well. We had a fun house full.
You and Kami play together all weekend and had a
great time! |
 |
July 26, 2001 You
decided you were going to stay and eat lunch at
school today. You got in line and washed your
hands, got a place mat and were seated at the
table looking for lunch. I talked you into to
coming on home since we did not have a lunch for
you to eat. I am so glad that you like school
that much. |
 |
July 25, 2001 You
brought home some more sand art and a magnet
seashell. Unfortunately, between you shaking me
dropping the sand art, it did not stay layered.
It is still pretty. |
